What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care is essential to maintain the health of your spine. This is true whether you are experiencing pain or not. During our assessment of the spine we are searching for a misalignment, also known as a subluxation. Subluxations can be caused by repetitive injury, falls, accidents, sports strain, and even chronic stress or inactivity. Chiropractors utilize natural approaches to allow the body to heal itself. Chiropractic care returns the body to its natural state of wellness and promotes healing by restoring balance and communication throughout the nervous system. We accomplish this by realigning the vertebrae to remove nerve interference, which also releases stress and tension in the muscles. When we remove nerve interference we allow you to express true wellness within!

What happens during my initial assessment?

At your initial visit Dr. Miller will complete a thorough exam. During this exam she will go over your health history, do a physical and orthopedic examination, postural analysis, and a spinal examination.  If necessary, spinal x-rays will be taken.  At the end of your initial visit you will schedule your report of findings.

At your second visit Dr. Miller will review the findings from your initial assessment with you. She will then recommended a customized care plan. With chiropractic care, each visit builds on the last, and we must retrain your muscles, tendons and ligaments to hold your joints in the correct alignment. Because of this, treatments will usually begin at a higher frequency and taper down until we get to wellness/maintenance care. At this second visit, you will receive your first adjustment! Additional therapies, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, cupping, and trigger point therapy, will be recommend as needed.

Is chiropractic care safe for babies?

Yes! Adjustments for babies are very safe and gentle. In fact, the amount of pressure used to check for a ripe avocado is the amount of pressure needed to adjust a baby. Birth can be traumatic to mothers and babies spines, so it can be very beneficial to get both mom and baby checked after birth. It is easier to raise healthy kids than fix injured adults.

What is the Webster Technique?

The Webster technique is a chiropractic technique that uses a special analysis to assess and adjust a woman’s pelvis, reducing stress on the uterus and the ligaments that support it. Maintaining a balanced pelvis can help the developing baby assume the correct position. This can allow labor and delivery to be less stressful on both the mother and the baby.

What types of health insurance do you accept?

We are currently in the process of getting in network with insurance. Some insurance companies do offer reimbursement while we are out of network. Upon request, we will print an itemized receipt for you to submit to your insurance company to be reimbursed. We also accept HSA/FSA payments.

Where are you located?

We are located in the Gateway Complex on North Columbus Street. We are on the second floor of building 2658. There is an elevator for those in wheel chairs, with strollers, or in pain.
